Most of the classic Chalkware Dreco was produced in Japan in the 1930's and 1940's as prizes for carnival concessions. They conform beautifully with the ambience of cheap illusion that lies at the heart of carnivals. This Dreco works on two levels. From a distance of eight feet, where the carnival game player would stand, Chalkware Dreco appears as moderately attractive Kitsch statues. When seen close up the illusion shatters.
