Art Dreco, discovered by Paul Drexler in 1973, is based on the principal of Circular Aesthetics, which holds that when an extreme is reached it is possible to transform into the opposite extreme. Thus art that is badly done or in bad taste can, when conditions are right, be transformed by "some philosophers stone of the mind" into works of great artistic merit. Examples of this concept of work, "so bad it is good," are familiar to appreciators of filmmaker Ed Wood, professional wrestling, and Springtime For Hitler. The Art Dreco theory is related (second cousins actually) to the Scientific theorem known as the Catastrophe Theory, discovered by Mathematician Rene Thom. For a longer explanation, read A Dreco Manifesto.
